TEi recently undertook a project working in conjunction with the University of Huddersfield to manufacture the frame for their formula student vehicle. To be judged and raced at Silverstone.
The university team, known as Team HARE, approached TEi after finding out the fabricating and welding capabilities of TEi in the power and petrochemical industries.
Team Hare provided the design and materials for TEi to assemble the mitred frame to accuracy within less than 1mm.
The skills of TEi craftsmen were transferred into the motorsport industry to great effect. The quality of the Team HARE design along with the quality of the TEi fabrication and welding, lead to the formula vehicle placing 2nd out of the British Universities, 5th globally – over 80 Universities took part.
