APRIL 2016 saw the completion of the two-year Project that TEi carried out for the UK’s leading Healthcare Waste Specialists, SRCL.
This complicated hybrid project involved :
- The dismantling of the SRCL Nottingham clinical waste incinerator and the removal of all plant from the current site in Nottingham to the new site in Avonmouth
- The dismantling, loading and transportation of existing plant
- The modification and complete overhaul of the clinical waste incinerator to ensure fit for purpose
- The installation of the new steam heat generation unit to allow the Avonmouth site to be electrically self-sufficient
- The design, fabrication and installation of the new tube plate and tubes for the refurbished waste heat boiler
- The design, fabrication and installation of the new flue-gas ducting system
- The modification of the SRCL site at Avonmouth to suit its new purpose including the design, fabrication and installation of water and air ring mains, and all structural steelwork
- As principal contractor under CDM, the control and coordination of all subcontract trades utilized on both Sites – 100,000 hours with no accidents
- Preparation and issue of project health and safety file including all drawings, reports and methods
