Aberpergwm Colliery in the Neath Valley in South Wales closed in 2015 with the loss of 300 jobs.
With new backing Energybuild are hoping to re-open the drift mine in 2019 with the creation of over 100 jobs in the first year and TEi ltd are helping to reinstate the new coal production with the supply of replacement Scrapers for the coal transfer belts.
The scraper arms automatically remove any surplus material clinging to the belts which stops “carry back” of materials or the material jamming the rollers and therefore prevents the belts from breaking down or even snapping – which leads to costly and time consuming repairs.
The new mine infrastructure is gradually being put in place and production should start later in the year with a further increase in new jobs.
