A rusting World War II Sherman tank that took part in decisive battles for the liberation of Europe arrives at TEi where it will be restored by apprentice engineers.
It has taken pride of place outside the National Liberation Museum in Grosebeek, Holland, but in recent years has started to look its age. Everyone involved in the revamp-from the ferry firm to the crane company needed to lift it onto a low loader – has given their time for free.
TEi became involved after the Dutch museum asked for help with the restoration from the modern day Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry – now a TA unit – whose members include TEi engineer Bob Gregory.
